Pacific Airways (the floatplane company that will be
transporting you to the Lodge and back to Ketchikan) allows 40 pounds per
person for luggage on flights to and from the Lodge.
Most major airlines have their own baggage requirements. Please check with every airline you will be flying on to ensure no surprises in your trip.
Traveling
In addition to your personal bag tags, it is imperative
that our HOT PINK SCL bag tags are attached to every piece of luggage
bound for Sportsman's Cove Lodge- EVEN YOUR CARRY-ON BAG! We cannot stress
this enough. Our worst fear would be that your bags would stay on the
plane and end up in some remote village.lost forever.
Arriving in Ketchikan around 4:00 PM
Upon arrival in Ketchikan International Airport
(remember no later than 4:00 pm) you will notice the "Pacific
Airways" counter located right by the baggage claim area. After
claiming your bags, please proceed to the Pacific Airways counter
and check-in with them immediately - they are expecting you. Pacific
Airways will provide you with the information you need to proceed to
the floatplane dock for your flight to Sportsman's Cove
Lodge. Your floatplane fare is included in the cost of your package.

Arriving in Ketchikan before 2:00 PM
If you arrive before 2:00 pm, you may want to
take the ferry over to town and do some sightseeing. The airport is
located on a small island with ferry service every 30 minutes to
Ketchikan.
Please check in with Pacific Airways and let them
know you are going into town and will want to catch the floatplane
to the Lodge from the "waterfront" terminal. Pacific Airways will
then give you a waterfront floatplane departure time. You will need
to be at the Pacific Airways waterfront terminal - located at 1007
Water Street - 30 minutes prior to
departure.

Arriving Early in Ketchikan
If you do arrive early and have the time to explore
Alaska's First City, the Ketchikan Visitors Bureau is located at 1935 Tongass Avenue. You can get a copy of the famous "Walking Tour Map" there. Give
